I’m Kirstie, when I was 17 years old a fortune teller (best not to ask) told me that I was 'in love with love'. Not quite the prediction my heart had hoped for but ....... turned out, they were entirely right, being in love with love is exactly how I've lived my life.
One of the gorgeous people I’ve crafted a ceremony for, Michelle, wrote this: 'Kirstie IS love. She radiates it.'
This tells us two things.
The first is that the people whose celebrant I am are absolutely adorable, they’re generous, open beings who trust me to ‘get’ them and what it is that they need.
The second is this, I have absolutely found my niche in life.
Something that gorgeous Gill (whose mum’s funeral I was trusted to lead) confirmed on a card she recently wrote to me, she said 'Kirstie, angels gave you this vocation. Actual. Angels.'
For my whole life, I have loved writing. The connection that words bring is as much a part of me as my fingerprints and freckles. This is something that I treasure. Being able to share this love with others to help them to communicate what they need to as they mark the milestones of their life is my absolute honour and joy.
For just as long, I have loved the stories of people's lives. Not nosey of course, just insatiably curious about all things and all people. Curious about lives and stories and love and connection. Feeling this way means I actively hear who people are and what it is they need from their ceremonies.
For always too, I have noticed and valued the quirks and eccentricities we all have. It is by truly tuning-in to these that the ceremonies I create are as bespoke as each person's uniqueness.
I've also always been a massive geek. Just as I reject the term ‘nosey’ so too do I embrace the term ‘swot’. Why would you want someone you’re trusting your most important day with to be anything else?
I'll quote lovely Rachael here, who said:
"I would HIGHLY recommend Kirstie, she has such a warmth to her but she is so professional and diligent. Truly the best of both worlds."
So, here's the slightly duller (but still super important) professional and diligent bit .......
Warm. Encouraging. Friendly. Easy to talk to. With a geek-level attention to detail, super well-trained and as highly qualified as can be.
Am I yours?
I'm based in Cheshire/Merseyside, but love travelling throughout the country to far flung places to bring the perfect ceremony to you.
So ....... what about you?
After all, you’re what it’s all about .......
Kirstie x
In addition to my glorious job I fill my life with .......
Doing YOGA…Spending time with my inspirational FRIENDS…READING(is there anything better than a cup of tea with Agatha Christie on a rainy afternoon?)…VEGAN CHOCOLATE CAKE…BLANKETS (hence my love of a burial shroud)…WALKING MY DOG (Bing)…Appreciating DRAMATIC SKIES (especially when Goth-Rambling around graveyards – my happy place)… doing TEXTILE CRAFTS (always agog at how others can watch telly without needing to simultaneously embroider)… looking at TREES…LAUGHING (with others or alone, either is fine)
And, above all, MY FAMILY
I believe wholeheartedly that every movie ever made would be better if it was recast with just its central human star remaining and the rest of the cast played by The Muppets. (Note: my dream is Wuthering Heights with Adam Driver as Heathcliff surrounded by a muppet cast doing Yorkshire accents)
I am fully committed to the belief that one cannot ever be over-dressed nor over-qualified.
I am currently working through a list of things I’d like to do before I am 50 – which is the least exotic and adventurous list you will ever read, but to me is thrilling.
Above all else I believe this:
our connections to one another and to our glorious earth are the very centre of who we all are.
Celebrating love and life in all its glorious, uplifting, heartbreaking glory.
Any ceremony to mark the milestones of your life should be the perfect reflection of who you are, of how you choose to live, and of all that matters most to you.
I specialise in narrative ceremonies. Ones which embrace all of the feelings which fill-up our wild and precious hearts.
Funerals, memorials, and wedding celebrations which tell the story of a life, a family, a relationship. Which bring a shared experience for all.
Whatever your vibe, whatever your belief, whatever's most reflective of who you are - your Kirstie-led ceremony offers the space to:
I look forward to getting to know you and yours x
Ceremonies are the cornerstones of our lives .......
They bring us together.
They mark the moments which matter most.
They deserve ultimate thought, ultimate personalisation, the ultimate attention to detail and all the love which can ever be chucked their way.
Time to talk about yours?
